Katherine stayed on the outer edge of the gate surrounding the huge mansion. She could smell vampire, as well as human, and a bit of werewolf as well. It didn't really matter to her, though. She wasn't here to make friends or anything. She was investigating the place, wanting to see if the rumors were true. Then she would go home... right? Right.

I'm too shy for a big family like this, she thought to herself. Shadows danced across the windows, people moving around inside, doing whatever as they went about their day. She sighed, her feet dangling from the tree branch she was sitting on, her bow and quiver of arrows strapped onto her back. Kat really didn't know what she was doing here, why she had come. But she had, and there was no turning back now.

Kat froze. She hadn't realized she was so visible. She narrowed her eyes at the girl who had stumbled out of the door. She was clearly one of the humans.

Pushing her hair from her face, Kat jumped down from the tree, landing just inside the fence line. She rose cautiously, staring at the other girl. "Hello..." she said.

Katherine continued to stare at the strange girl. "My... story?" she asked. She hadn't spoken in a long while, but her voice was still musical, not too high but still a tint of bells in it. "I'm from America. I met a female vampire who told me of this place. She asked me to come here. I was... not in the best place at the time."

She smiled slightly. "I see. So they're vegetarians?" she asked. "I can understand that."

She stood there awkwardly, unsure of what to do next. It was then that someone poked their head out of a window. Kat raised her eyebrows, nodding politely. "Oh, uhm, my name is Katherine. But, you can call me Kat if you'd like."
